The Fashion Icons Workshop to be Hosted at the Heydar Aliyev Center
The Heydar Aliyev Center is to host the Fashion Icons workshop by Natalia Tolkunova, a Russian fashion expert.
The workshop comprises 3 lectures on March 12, 13 and 14, each of them of 2 parts with a total duration of 2 hours.
Participation fee is 15AZN for one lecture, 30 AZN for all three lectures.
The workshop is arranged as part of the Fashion and Modernism exhibition currently hosted at the Center. The display featuring the fashion samples of the 1960’s is provided by the Alexander Vasilyev Foundation’s collection.
To better grasp various ramifications of modern fashion, one should have certain beacons, i.e. the persons with impeccable taste, capable of assisting others to find his or her best image. The Fashion Icons workshop is exactly about these leading lights in the international vogue.
Participants of the workshop will also get a chance to attend the Modernism and Fashion exhibition at the Heydar Aliyev Center free of charge.

The 1960’s Tradition in Modern Fashion
The lecture deals with the fashion of the 1960’s, its impact on today’s fashion trends and the use of yesteryear know-how by present-day fashion designers.
The 1960’s sum up the fashion aesthetics of the first half of the 20th century by launching some revolutionary novices. The decade is known as being highly dynamic and subtle.
Natalia Tolkunova is a journalist and interpreter actively involved in teaching at the Moscow State University. Natalia offers a series of lectures like The History of Vogue Magazine, Movie and Fashion, Fashion Icons in the framework of Alexander Vasilyev’s Theory and Industry of Fashion programme. A former editor-in-chief of Dorogoy and Sur la Terre magazines, she is an author of the book The 1950’s: The Couturiers’ Last Stronghold.
